Create Space Art Therapy
is a place for children and adolescence to express, create, and achieve their goals through Art Therapy and Play Therapy.
What is
Art Therapy?
Art Therapy, (also known as Creative Arts Therapy) is a form of psychotherapy.
Creative Arts Therapists are mental health professionals who use the power of creative processes, (drawing, writing, sculpting, drama, clay, sand, dance and movement) in the context of a therapeutic relationship to support healing, change and growth. This process facilitates the exploration of feelings, in order to improve self-awareness and offers
a way to witness thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to articulate.
The emphasis in Art Therapy is on the process of creating, and therefore the final product is not important! Anyone can engage in Art Therapy and there is no requirement for individuals to be ‘artistic’.
It's the process of creating that provides insight, growth, self-awareness and relief from overwhelming experiences.
Registered Creative Arts Therapists are trained in both creative methods as well as in psychological and psychotherapeutic methods to help clients better express themselves and to improve their wellbeing.

both in group and one on one contexts. Rebekah’s passion is working to support young people with issues involving mental health, emotion regulation and anger management, physical and mental disabilities, engagement with education, self-esteem, ASD, trauma, as well as working with at-risk or extremely vulnerable youth.
Rebekah has completed a Master’s in Art Therapy and training in Interplay Play Therapy, with skills in mental health psychotherapy and counselling, and incorporates elements of these into her work.
Her work is trauma-informed and client-centred. Rebekah promotes a safe environment for all and welcomes those who are gender diverse, culturally diverse and neuro-divergent.
Rebekah is passionate about art as self-exploration, and self-expression.
She encourages young people to delve into their inner world and to find ways to express it outwardly in order to address and process what is happening for them. She has seen the power that art can have in healing, and developing an understanding of identity, acceptance and self-love.
Rebekah values the importance of supporting young people to build an understanding of themselves and their needs, and having the individual lead that process.
Rebekah integrates Play Therapy and counselling skills into the Art Therapy space, and encourages young people to express and explore their inner thoughts however feels comfortable for them, whether through art, play, writing, or music.
NDIS Clients welcome.
